In order to save energy and meet so-called "energy sobriety" requirements, Air France is asking employees working at its headquarters not to come to the office on Fridays. The measure, which will affect up to 4,000 employees, has already been trialled by the airline amid the Covid-19 health crisis and the implementation of its short-time working scheme.
Like all French companies, Air France had until 30 September to present a so-called “energy sobriety plan” (plan de sobriété énergétique), setting out how it expects to cut down on energy use. As well as a communications campaign promoting ecological measures and encouraging car-pooling by setting up a dedicated internal platform, the company is focusing on the energy efficiency of its buildings.
