In a co-edited white paper presented on 25 January 2024, the business organisations in France's engineering, banking and insurance sectors – Fédération Syntec, Fédération Bancaire Française and France Assureurs – have proposed 10 measures to reform apprenticeship, training and professional retraining.
The engineering, digital and consulting, banking and insurance sectors, which represent more than 1.5 million employees in France and fill 300,000 positions a year, are facing a two-pronged backdrop: digital, energy and ecological transitions, and longer careers following pension reform. “We urgently need to strengthen and perpetuate a training and apprenticeship system that massively supports the skills needs of our economy,” they write in the introduction to the white paper.
