On International Women's Day, France’s Ministry of Labour published the annual results of the gender equality index, which companies were required to publish by 1 March. Previously only required of companies with over 250 staff members, this year the obligation has been extended to companies with more than 50 employees.
Results show improvement. On its website, the Ministry of Labour points to an improvement in results. Some 70% of the companies concerned have published their workplace gender equality index compared with 59% in 2020. The percentage of companies with a score of over 75 has increased by one percentage point to 56%, while the average score has risen by one point to 85 (out of 100).
