The government has adopted measures to shorten the time limits for works council information and consultation regarding employer decisions aimed at dealing with the economic, financial and social consequences of the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, while explicitly excluding from this overriding regime procedures relating to mass redundancy plans and competitiveness agreements.
As such, the deadline after which an employer can consider finished the procedure of informing and consulting with a works council, in companies of at least 50 employees, on decisions that aim to address the economic, financial and social consequences of the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, has been reduced from one month to 8 days.
