French prime minister Gabriel Attal has outlined the measures contained in the new unemployment insurance scheme, due to come into force on 1 December 2024. The duration of compensation will be reduced, eligibility restricted and the age limit for more favourable compensation for senior citizens raised.
This is the third such measure in four years. In an interview with La Tribune Dimanche on Sunday 26 May, prime minister Gabriel Attal unveiled the new unemployment insurance reform.
