In 2021 the French multinational automaker launched its ‘Refactory’ circular economy factory at its historic site in Flins, near Paris. Emblematic of the auto-sector’s transformation as a result of the ecological transition, this project is designed, inter alia, to give vehicles a second life. The site is also becoming an employee international vocational and academic training centre, focused on retraining, and on initial and ongoing training for those in employment as well as those struggling to secure employment.

The automotive industry is acutely experiencing the impact of the ecological transition particularly in terms of employment.
