IG Metall and the Employers' Federation (Stahl) reached agreement in the night of September 20-21 on a wage increase of 3.8% and a 1250 euros bonus for 85,000 employees. An innovation is the inclusion in the agreement of a pact on "demographic evolution". (Ref. 06930)
3.8% increase- IG Metall and the Employers’ association ( Arbeitgeberverbandstahl), reached agreement on the renewal of the collective agreements covering 85,000( Rhineland North Westphalia, Bremen and Lower Saxony) out of the 104,000 employees in the West German iron and steel industry, thereby putting an end to a month of negotiations punctuated by warning strikes.
