After weeks of strikes and an eight-day marathon negotiation, Deutsche Telekom's management and the German services union Ver.di ended, on June 20, 2007, their quarrel on the modalities to transfer 50.000 employees to external companies (see our dispatched n° 70417 and 70468) both parties had to make important concessions. The compromise plans that 50.000 employees from T-Com (landline company) will be transferred as was planned on July 1, to new services companies (T-Service) there, they will work four additional hours a week, that is 38 hours, and will see their salary gradually decrease of 6.5%. as a counterpart, they will be protected against any enforced redundancy until 2012.
