2013 collective bargaining is already well on its way. In about 20 major sectors, the social partners have reached agreements, the outcome of which has been analyzed by the Institute of economic and social research (WSI) of the Hans-Böckler union foundation. And the major point is that collectively-agreed pay should increase by 2-4 percent in many sectors this year. (Ref. 130362)
Wages up. In 2012, collective agreements were already higher than in 2011. The average wage increase was 2.7 percent (e.g. a real increase of 0.7 percent) as opposed to 2 percent in 2011. And it seems that this trend will continue in 2013 even though the economic situation is uncertain.
