Germany: ground-breaking agreement in the retail sector signed between Ver.Di and H&M
The German services sector trade union Ver.Di and the German subsidiary of the Swedish clothing chain, Hennes & Mauritz have signed a company agreement that is proving to be unique in Germany’s retail sector. The group's 14,300 German employees will now be involved in the company's digital strategy and in developing ‘a concept for the future.’ The agreement provides for the creation of a digitalization committee, protection from employment termination, qualifications-related measures ,as well as half-yearly bonuses that are partly linked to company sales numbers.
