Germany : IG-Metall about to publish a list of « black sheep » among temp agencies

Confronted with the upsurge of temp employees paid less than the permanent workforce, the Frankfurt section of IG-Metall (which covers four Länder- Hesse, Rheinland-Palatinate, Sarre and Thuringen) had signed on April 11 this year a “fairness agreement” (Fairness-Abkommen) with two employers’ temporary work federations, BZA and IGZ. In this agreement, the social partners invited temp agencies to apply the collective agreement negotiated between BZA, IGZ with the German Employers’ Federation DGB. IG-Metall had added that it would draw up a list of interim job agencies having refused to sign the fairness agreement.
