Lufthansa is facing two major wage conflicts. Ver.di, the services' union, claims for a 9.8% wage increase for the approximately 60.000 ground and cabin staff and threatened to start a strike if bargaining fails on July 17. Involved in another wage conflict, the Vereinigung Cockpit pilots union (VP) also called on its members to vote for an unlimited strike in the beginning of July. (Ref. 080498)
