On 29 October, the German cabinet adopted the minimum wage hike proposed by the country’s independent minimum wage commission. The minimum wage will rise from €12.82 to €13.90 gross per hour on 1 January 2026, then to €14.60 on 1 January 2027, representing a total increase of 13.9% that will benefit around six million employees.
