The large coalition government voted, on June 13, 2007, during the Minister's Council, a series of measures aiming at financially helping workers with low income to appeal to continuing training. This program will soon be the subject of a bill which will be debated this fall in the Bundestag. It should into effect in the summer of 2008. (Ref. 070528.)
“These measures are essentially addressed to people who work, but who oftentimes do not have enough money to follow vocation training”, explained a spokesperson from the federal Ministry of Education and Research to e-europnews. This program will thus beneficiate to people with an annual gross salary going as high as 17.900 euros (or up to 35.800 euros per couple). There will be three main tools.
