The metallurgy union and Siemens' works council pressed charges, on April 2, 2007 against the German multinational company in the corruption case which already lead behind bars Wilhelm Schelsky, former president of the 'independent employees' circle" (AUB) and Johannes Feldmayer, leader of Siemens Europe. The IG Metall is suspecting Siemens of financing a “home union,” the AUB, to limit IG Metall’s influence on the group’s employees: “we have evidence that Siemens financed the AUB to create a kind of counter-union to the IG Metall”, declared Jürgen Peters, leader of IG Metall, yesterday in Frankfurt. “Through this complaint, we want transparency to appear”, he specified.
