otiations, the IG Metall iron and steel union and employers adopted, on March 10, 2009, a new collective agreement for the 85.000 employees of the textile and clothing industry in the former Lander. Taking account of the crisis, which badly affects many businesses in the sector, the agreement provides for a moderated and “à la carte” wage increase. Thus, ailing businesses may reduce or even remove the wage increase in exchange for employment guarantee. (Ref. 090269)
