According to a study published on May 7, 2007 by the Hans-Böckler foundation (close to trade unions), 40% of all employees in Germany enjoy working hours that are "extremely flexible". Only 13% of them still undergo "classical" working hours, going from 35 to 42 hours a week, from Monday to Friday, with no shift job, no extra hours or flexible hours (Gleitzeit.) (Ref. 070406)
Jointly carried out by searchers from the institute of social and economic studies (WSI) from the Hans-Böckler foundation, from the Dortmund social research center (Sozialforschungsstelle) and from the research institute on the labour market (IAB) in Nuremberg, the study distinguishes two types of working time: “rather flexible” and “extremely flexible”.
