A survey conducted by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development found that 70% of companies, whether public or private, are “actively” looking to hire people between 55 and 65 years old. 800 companies were surveyed. Even more surprising: 31% of companies want to hire people who are entitled to retire, in other words workers over 65. This does not affect the hiring of youngsters, as 74% of companies say they are looking forward to hiring workers between 16 and 24 years of age.
