The companies which signed the Pact – the Skill’s Pledge – commit, in exchange for government financial support, to train their less qualified employees so that all of them master a minimum level of writing, reading and calculation. The British Ministry of Labour and Pensions launched a pact in favour of training towards companies. Recommended in December 2006 by Lord Leitch (see our story 061233) in a report which had highlighted British employees' low qualification level, it aims at guaranteeing the less qualified employees access to training on their workplace.
