The National Audit Office – NAO – an organization which scrutinizes public spending on behalf of Parliament – recently published a report on ethnic minorities’ employment rate, ordered by the Department for Work and Pensions. The gap between the employment rate for the ethnic minority population and that for the general population is currently 14.2 points, which costs the economy £8.6 billion each year, that is £1.3 billion in benefit payments and lost tax revenue, and a£7.3 billion lost output
