Every autumn changes in British labor law come into force that keep human resource departments with plenty of extra work. This time round suspense is the order of the day as several implementation dates are still unknown and businesses have to get an early start in certain area.

Youth salaries receive a boost. From 01 October, the minimum wage for all Britons under 25 will rise. Employees between 21 and 24 will see the hourly minimum wage rise from £6.70 (€7.86) to £6.95 (€8.15). The hourly rate for those aged between 18 and 20 will rise from £5.30 (€6.21) to £5.55 (€6.50).
