On April 6, like every year, a certain number of social measures will come into force. This year, shorter redundancy consultation periods and higher benefits are on the agenda. (Ref. 130217)
Shorter redundancy consultation periods
. The minimum consultation period for 100 or more redundancies will go from 90 days to 45. the consultation period for 20-99 redundancies remains 30 days. To support these changes, the Acas arbitration/mediation service will publish a guide providing answers to the key contentious issues that arise in the event of consultation preparing for mass layoffs (about the bill recently adopted, see our dispatch No. 130095).
