Great-Britain: the bill to transpose the new Directive on European Works Councils lays before the Parliament

Scope. In accordance with the directive, anticipation agreements (which came into force before 16th December 1999) are not submitted to the new clauses nor to the existing clauses in force, except for the articles concerning the significant changes in the company structure (cf. hereafter). For the agreements negotiated after this date, the bill provides for that the agreements signed or revised from 5th June 2009 to 4th June 2011 inclusive will be excluded from the scope of the new regulations, introduced by the 2010 TICE, but always with the exception of article 13 of the 2009 Directive on the significant changes. The drafting of the bill gives to understand that the agreements concluded according to the 1994 Directive, which would not be revised during these 2 years, would fall under the new regulations.
