According to the “Burdens Barometer”, the independent calculation of the costs to businesses, independently compiled by experts from the London and Manchester Business Schools and based on the Government’s own figures, the cost has risen from 39 billion pounds to over 50 billion in 2006 in order to adapt to the new regulations.
