Over the past years, the British government conducted thousands of illegal inquiry procedures to check the criminal records of job applicants. Some of them were wrongly identified as criminals. (Ref. 06517)

These “gaffes” were recognized by the Ministry of the Interior. They are the consequence of an exponential increase of checking demands from employers who are reluctant to hire without knowing the criminal records of applicants. Most of these demands are abusive.
