Despite fervent protest Greece’s Conservative government has just passed a reform to Labour Code, ratifying a broad flexibilization of working hours. The text also transposes the European directive on transparent and predictable working conditions.
On 23 September, the Greek Parliament (Voulí) voted on a reform of the Labour Code as presented by the executive. The text implements European Directive 2019/1152 (albeit behind schedule given the transposition deadline was 01 August 2022), and introduces a considerable increase in working hours.
