At an interministerial press conference held on 12 September, Greek labour and social security minister Niki Kerameos announced a number of measures to stimulate employment. These include a 1% reduction in social security contributions from 1 January next year (0.5% on employee contributions and 0.5% on employer contributions), plus a further 0.5% reduction in 2027.
