Groupama: amendment adjusting the EWC agreement to the new European Directive

Information/consultation.  Thus, employee representatives are assured “information and consultation at appropriate level and in a timely manner.”  Information is defined as “the transmission of data by the General Management to the members of the European Works Council on transnational matters significantly affecting the interests and normative and contractual working conditions of the employees.”  The text adds that the procedure should give the union representatives time to study the information transmitted and, where appropriate, quickly prepare for the consultation phase.  The amendment defines this step as “the establishment of dialogue and exchange of views between employees’ representatives and Central Management, at such time, in such fashion and with such content as enables employees’ representatives to express an opinion on the basis of the information provided about the proposed measures.”  It adds that information/consultation can take place during the annual meetings of the EWC or, where appropriate, of the Bureau.
