On 1 November, State Secretary for Employment Policy Sandor Czomba announced a 15% increase in the minimum wage from 1 December 2023, rather than from 1 January 2024 as had been planned. The wage level will rise from 232,000 forints (around €608) gross per month to 266,000 forints (around €697). The increase in the guaranteed minimum wage (paid to skilled workers) is still under discussion and could be set at 10% as early as December, according to the government.
