The International Labour Organization (ILO) via its training center in Turin (ITC-ILO) has just made an E-learning module available to help governments, multinational enterprises, national employers’ organizations, and workers become more knowledgeable about the principles of the MNE Declaration. The module is hands on and includes several case studies. It aims to both improve the implementation of the Declaration as well as to inform about the synergies and the differences between it and other international instruments.
Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy. The E-learning module focuses on this Declaration adopted by the ILO in 1977 and subsequently amended in both 2000 and in 2006. Originally its goal was to design instruments that guide multinational enterprises as to their corporate conduct of business rules and also to define how they conduct relations with their host countries (which were mainly third world countries). This MNE Declaration is universal in scope
