During the launching of an information campaign on workers' rights, the government announced, on January 10, a series of labour law reforms. The most important of them aims at strengthening the labour inspectorate's powers and size. These reforms are part of the 2006 National Pact for Growth and Employment (Towards 2016 - see our article No. 06855), which set the respect of workers' rights as a priority. (Ref. 080034)
An institution in charge of making sure that workers’ rights are respected. On January 10, the day of the first anniversary of the National Employment Rights Authority – NERA, the government launched a large information campaign about this institution’s role, which informs and advises people about labour law and makes sure it is well enforced.
