More than half of Telecom Italia’s workers who voted, have rejected an agreement between the company and the trade unions; SLC-CGIL, Fistel-Cisl, UIlcom-UIl, to restructure the Caring Services division via introducing a new client service model accompanied by skills training for the division’s staff. Opposition lay in the fact that unions saw the new model as potentially opening the door to remote employee monitoring. A section of SLC and all of the independent union USB that in November 2014 started participating in Telecom Italia personnel representation bodies campaigned against this agreement.
A controversial agreement. This failed agreement had been negotiated following measures that had been signed in a framework agreement on March 27, 2013 (c.f. article No. 130229) and that had included a study on the possibility of spinning off the Caring Services division.
