Italian multi-utility provider Acea together with the trade union bodies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) defining a new participatory people-centred industrial relations model. The aim is to develop skills as well as individual and collective well-being, with a view to both ensuring the group's competitiveness and valuing its employees. Acea, which in particular manages the distribution of electricity, gas and water in Rome, is listed on the Milan stock exchange and is 51% controlled by the Municipality of Rome.
On 15 May, Acea Group management together with the Filctem-Cgil, Flaei-Cisl, Femca-Cisl, Uiltec, CISAL, UGL and USB unions signed the ‘People and Participation Charter.’ Its preamble refers to the many challenges facing Acea including the energy crisis and ecological transition. The agreement echoes the ‘Status of the Person’ agreement introduced in 2022 by the state-controlled energy company Enel.
