…Italy: breakdown in talks over renewal of national banking collective agreement
On November 25 employee unions and ABI the Italian Banking Association (employers body) halted negotiations over renewal of the national banking sector collective agreement, which affects over 309,000 employees. Talks broke down during the final phase of talks mainly due to a yawning distance between their respective positions on the issues of labor costs and the relationship between company agreements and the national agreement. Unions are calling for a national strike from January 15.
