Italy: chemistry unions announce national strike on June 24

National strike on June 24. On may 27, in Rome, the Filcem-CGIL, Femca-Cisl and Uilcem-Uil unions, together with unitary trade union representation bodies (RSUs) of the chemistry and pharmacy sectors asked for: a “serious” industrial plan to revive the sector, the safeguard of production and jobs, and the “immediate opening” of negotiations with the social partners. These requests were adopted unanimously. After the meeting, unions announced an eight-hour national strike on June 24 with three demonstrations. The first two will be in Rome – one in front of the Council presidency and the other in front of the management of Eni. The third will be in Milan in front of the headquarters of the Federchimica employers’ organization.
