Italy: Confindustria presented its national collective bargaining model to the trade unions

A three-year national collective agreement, more weight to the company level and a seven-month "union peace" during the bargaining for the renewal: these are the main elements of the reform of the conventional system which the employers' organization presented to the three trade union organization on September 12, 2008, as a response to the project they presented four months ago (see our dispatch No. 080377). Although the CISL and UIL gave a positive welcome to the proposal, a part of the CGIL's executive board requested a break in the negotiations, and the whole confederation criticized the entire document.
