After tough negotiations characterized by a break and a national strike last December, Filca-Cisl, Feneal-Uil and Fillea-CGIL for unions and Ance and Coop for employers reached, on July 1, a deal renewing the construction industry’s national collective agreement (CCN), expired in December 2012. This agreement covers about 800,000 employees. In addition to a wage increase, it provides for the “rationalization” of the sector’s joint organizations and increases the limit of fixed-term contracts, with the obligation to recruit some of them via the sector’s national working grant.
Economic part. The wage increase starts at €40 for the basic level (parameter 100) and will be divided in 2 (€15 in July 2014 and €25 in July 2015). Besides, from January 2015 on, employers will have to pay a monthly €8 contribution per employee to the sector’s supplementary contingency fund – Fondo Prevevi -, for which this agreement introduces mandatory affiliation for all workers.
