On 11 February, the employers' organisations Elettricità Futura and Utilitalia, the major companies in the sector including Enel and Terna, and the trade unions Filctem-Cgil, Flaei-Cisl and Uiltec signed a deal to renew the collective agreement for the electricity sector. In addition to a record pay rise, the agreement provides for advances in workers' rights and training. It also introduces the topic of artificial intelligence into industrial relations at the sector and company level.
The agreement, which must be approved by the worker assemblies, covers approximately 60,000 people. It will be valid from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.
