After electricity (see our dispatch No. 100211) and rubber and plastic (see our dispatch No. 100246), the social partners in oil and energy (Filcem-CGIL, Femca-Cisl and Uilcem-Uil for unions and Confindustria Energia for employers) have reached a unitary agreement – in spite of three separate union platforms – for the renewal of their national collective agreement which expired on December 31, 2009. Signed for three years (01/01/2010-12/31/2012), it affects nearly 33,000 employees from around sixty businesses, including Eni, Shell, Esso, Erg, Total, Q8, Api-Ip, and Saras. The agreement will now be sent to the workers for approval before being permanently confirmed by April 23.
