In July 24, Intesa Sanpaolo signed, with the group's trade union representatives, a "Protocol on inclusion and equal opportunities" that sets up the framework for the future collective bargaining for the prevention and elimination of discriminations and the promotion of diversity. The first agreement signed in the aftermath of this protocol covers the extension of wedding leave entitlement to religious weddings as well as gay marriage (celebrated abroad, since this same sex wedding is prohibited in Italy). Unions want this agreement to set an example and spread it in other banking groups.
Commitments. In the protocol signed by the company management and Dircredito, Fabi, Fiba-Cisl, Fisac-CGIL, Sinfub, UGL, Uilca unions, signatories commit to lead joint actions to:
- prevent unjustified more favorable situation and combat discriminations grounded in gender, âge, ethnic origin, religion, union or political membership, sexual orientation, among others ;
- respect diversity and promote equal opportunities ;
