In spite of the principle "silence equals consent" about the assignment of TFR ("trattamento fine rapport", the part of the salary paid with interests when the person leaves the company) to pension funds which, according to forecasts, should have increased Italian people's subscription rate to private pension schemes, did not meet the anticipated results. Between 30% and 35% of people assigned these amounts to pension funds, a figure which is below the 40% which the government had planned for the end of the year. (Ref. 070958)
Applying the rule “silence equals consent,” metalworkers’ subscription to the sectoral pension funds (Cometa) hardly corresponds to 1% of all the new subscriptions to these funds.
