A legislative decree published on 29 September in Italy’s official journal (Gazzetta Ufficiale) extends until 31 December 2023 the right to smart working for employees in the public and private sectors considered to be “fragile”, whereby they suffer from a serious illness as defined by the decree of 4 February 2022. They will thus be able to continue working remotely until the end of the year, even if this means being assigned to other tasks.
