Italy: social partners in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry sign framework agreement on ‘high training’ apprenticeship in the sector

On October 8, the Federchimica and Farmindustria employers’ organizations signed a framework agreement with the Filctem-CGIL, Femca-Cisl and Uiltec-Uil unions to regulate the “high training and research” apprenticeship contract in the chemical, pharmaceutical, chemical fiber, abrasive, lubricant and LPG industries.  It will help prepare experimental projects with this type of contract, which should start soon.  The three unions are happy with this agreement because it allows adopting this form of apprenticeship in the different regions with a “single guideline,” as it is notably in keeping with the standards for professional apprenticeship contained in the sector’s collective agreement, which covers 2,700 affiliated with Federchimica and 218 affiliated with Farmindustria, for a total of nearly 180,000 workers.  (Ref.  130649)
