The social partners in the wood and furniture sector have concluded a protocol on a code of conduct to combat sexual and moral harassment at work. This is the first such agreement in Italy at branch level and covers 370,000 workers across 70,000 companies. It sets out the procedures to be followed when harassment occurs and also initiatives to make people more aware of the issue as well as training including a training course for managers.
“We have signed this protocol to give businesses a tool to combat situations of prejudice or those that can cause embarrassment and ensure that the business runs smoothly,” stated the employers’ association FederlegnoArredo during the presentation of the protocol signed on February 4, 2015 with co-signatories Feneal-Uil, Filca-Cisl, and Fillea-CGIL.
