The decision by Confindustria, the Italian employers’ federation, and the CGIL, CISL and UIL, the three large trade union bodies, to resume social dialogue has started to bear fruit. On 1 September the social partners put forward a “coherent set of proposals” to the government, regarding corporate restructuring and mass redundancies.
