On March 27, Telecom Italian and the trade unions agreed on the key elements of the 2013-2014 business plan. The agreement provides that solidarity contracts will be used to managed 2,500 out of 3,000 “surplus” workers as well as an insourcing strategy for some outsourced activities and major changes to the work organization, mainly affecting the group’s two largest divisions – Caring Services and Open Access. The framework agreement was signed on March 27 after 48 hours of continuous negotiations between Telecom Italia and the SLC-CGIL, Fistel Cisl and Uilcom Uil unions as well as the Unitary trade union representation structure (RSU).
