The Italian banking sector unions have called for a general strike on January 30 demanding the renewal of the national collective agreement and decrying the employers association for their decision to no longer apply the current agreement after April 01.

Announced after the breakdown in negotiations over renewing the national collective agreement on November 25 2014, (c.f. article No. 8741), the banking sector general strike is set for January 30. The unions concerned: Fabi, Fiba-Cisl, Fisac-Cgil, Uilca-Uil, Dircredito, Ugl Credito, Sinfub, and Unisin indicated that the strike would include the sector’s 309,000 employees.
