The first section of the “Jobs Act” of the Renzi government, the reformation that was presented by the minister of Employment, Giuliano Poletti, in March (see our dispatch n°8252), has been changed after parliamentary scrutiny, and has been approved by a vote of confidence of the parliament on 13 May. Green light was given on 15 May. Not everybody agreed with this as there were manifestations outside of the parliament on 13 May and members of parliament of the left wing took out a bill....
Italy : the parliament has permamently adopted the first part of the “Jobs Act” of the Renzi government
Today, 15 May, the majority of the parliament has definitively approved the law on urgent dispositions “to promote the revitalization of employment and for the simplification of obligations for businesses”, which is mainly of importance for fixed term contracts and apprenticeships. The main new element is that no reason has to be given for the use of a fixed term contract of less than three years. The law will come into force the day after its publication in the Gazzetta Ufficiale.
