Despite its downfall, the Prodi government continues developing legislative decrees for the "Testo Unico" on occupational health and safety which it was assigned through article 1 of the law 123 (see our article No. 070690). It is a time trial because the elections will be on April 13. Faced with social partners' impossibility to agree, notably on the Rls issue (representatives in charge of safety) in SMEs, the Minister for Employment decided to present a bill quickly. Paradoxically, whereas it was one of its priorities since it came to office, the Prodi government saw its last months dramatically characterized by occupational safety (see our article No. 071035).
