At 44 years of age Marco Bentivogli was, on November 13, voted in by the Fim-Cisl General Council as the youngest ever metals union leader in Italian history. Via his project “Sindacato 2.0” (Union 2.0) he aims to give a voice to the labor market’s young and ‘unseen’. He will also be the man in charge of merging Femca (textiles and chemicals) with Fim-Cisl to create a big Cisl industry union.
On November 13, the General Council of Fim voted in Marco Bentivogli at 44 years of age voted in as the new and youngest Secretary General of Cisl metals by 134 out of 143 (9 invalid votes). The outgoing leader Giuseppe Farina, designated Marco Bentovogli for the post and G. Farina goes on to take a position in the Confederate Secretariat.
